Hi there. Long time reader, first time blogger.

This is the home of the Blitzverse, which is my body of creative work. I’m a creative writer, with an appreciation of genre fiction. I created the Blitzverse as a superhero universe, but it’s evolved into something quite more complicated. Over the past years, I’ve written stories ranging from superheroes to Westerns to historical fantasy. Likely I will venture into other things depending on where the Muse draws me.

My literary influences are wide and varied. I’m currently a graduate student pursuing a Master’s degree in Literary Studies, so my reading list is fairly broad. In my time, I’ve written academic essays on graphic novels as well as “traditional” literature. My personal philosophy is that all kinds of writing are worthy of study and analysis. My personal goal is to understand, as best as I can, how the craft of writing functions.

My primary influences would include: E. E. “Doc” Smith, Joss Whedon, Rod Serling, Steven Brust, Alan Moore, Chris Claremont, Roger Zelazny, Kurt Busiek, Grant Morrison, Michael Moorcock, R. A. Salvatore, Peter David, Robert A. Heinlein, Shakespeare, Mark Waid, Alfred Hitchcock, Lester Dent, Sergio Leone… and that’s just for starters. I’ve been exposed to quite a lot, and probably most of it gets processed into my writing on some level or another.

This is my space on the web to blather on about the craft of writing, whatever I’m doing at the moment, or just comment on whatever I’ve read lately. Unless, of course, it isn’t. I tend to head where my mood strikes at the moment.
